Rafqa Rayès was a Maronite nun born in 1832 in Hemlaya, Metn. After joining the women's section of the Lebanese Maronite Order, she spent her life in several convents in Lebanon. She became blind and suffered from bone tuberculosis and died in 1914. Several miracles took place at her tomb, which is located in the convent of Jrebta (Batroun). She was beatified in 1985 and canonised by John Paul II in 2001.
Present in this set dedicated to Saint Rafqa are 3 vials containing oil and incense from her monastery and earth from her tomb. Also included is a relic medal and necklace of the saint, a finger rosary, and the booklet of the Novena of Saint Rafqa, also from her monastery.
